((OOC: For those who don't know Rick's staff, here are pics with names and abilities, and links to each hero will be put in their names since costumes vary constantly.))

((P.S. OOC: Sorry for the delay on this, fic idea came on Halloween and work ate most of my time that day, after that it got stubborn. Also, be gentle, wasn't able to really have it proof read before posting.))

Even though it was Halloween, Rick hadn't planned to do much today, probably just go home after work and be a 26 year-old man for the rest of the day. It's not that he was against Halloween, he just didn't feel like going out, especially without anything to do. What he didn't know, is that his employees had other plans for him.

Walking out of his personal office, he went into the main area where all his employees were currently sitting doing their various work. "Okay guys, I'm going to call it a night. See you all tomorrow." He says, not very much into the holiday at the moment.

"Hold up there, Rick." Rebecca said, moving to stop him, soon joined by the rest of his staff.

Jake moves to stand next to Rebecca, putting an arm around her, "We think you need to go out and have some fun, so we all decided we'd celebrate Halloween together, group costume and all. We just need to get you in yours."

Giving them a look, he notices how none of them are in costume at the moment, just their normal clothes that they came in with. "And what are you all going as? People from some office sitcom?"

Several of his employees grinned a bit at that question, with the most nerve-inducing one being from Jenny, who Rick had learned usually was a source of trouble in one sense or another. After a second or two, Jenny turned to look to Rebecca, and asked "Now?" upon getting a nod from the red head, she says something Rick never would have thought her to say. "Semutsoc raeppa no su won!" and with the finishing of that sentence, she throws a hand up into the air, and snaps her fingers once it's up, causing a bright light to appear for a second. Once the light faded, all of Rick's staff was in costume, and apparently they decided on a theme, one which they knew Rick would like,   The Justice League.

Looking them over, Rick was able to tell who was dressed as what on sight, Rebecca was Wonder Woman and Jake was Batman, both going with the more modern and recent version of their heroes costumes, Rebecca's costume was leather pants and jacket than covered more along with her hair changed to black, and Jake's being the black and grey version more recently seen. Joe, being the example of the All-American man that he was, had went with a Superman costume, opting for the standard appearance that everyone would know and love. The rest of the staff, however were wearing costumes that the average person probably wouldn't know. Anne currently was wearing a Hawkgirl costume, complete with wings and mace, while Greg went with the Ted Kord version of Blue Beetle. Rounding out the group Leo had decided to go with a hero that had an ego that matched his, dressing as Booster Gold, and Jenny was currently dressed as Zatanna, complete with the top hat, magician's jacket, and fishnet stockings.

"Wow," Rick said, stunned by the sudden appearance of costumes, "are those... " he doesn't finish his sentence, already walking over to Jake, feeling his costume. While it seemed as real as any costume could be, Rick knew with Jenny's ability, it was very likely it was all just an illusion.

"Yes, they're real." Jake told him, speaking in the Batman voice as he pushes Rick's hand away. "Jenny was covering them while we were around you."

"Aww, Jake!" Jenny whined, already pouting some, "I thought..."

Jake cut her off, "I'm Batman."

"Jake..." Rebecca said, taking her arm off of him, and turning to give him a somewhat stern look.

"Batman." he replied back, stern in his tone.

Rebecca just gave him a look as Jenny sighed and turned back to Rick, "I thought we were going to try and convince you I actually got magical abilities to go with the costume, but apparently some people AREN'T FUN!" She shouted the last part of her sentence at Jake.

Laughing a bit at Jenny's response, Rick decides to ask the questions on his mind, "Okay, 1) Why the Justice League? and 2) Why do the whole dramatic reveal?"

Greg's hand shoots up, before pointing to himself, "I'll answer this." He says, looking around to everyone before looking back to Rick, "We figured a group theme would be easier to plan for, and Justice League fell into the categories of things you'd want to do, as well as having enough options for us to do as well as be fitting at least in some cases. Leo seemed fitting for Booster Gold due to his belief he is in fact the best there is at most things, me and Blue Beetle due to Ted Kord's technical genius, Joe and his All-American appearance, and Jenny... well, we had to get her to stick to one, and thus, Zatanna."

Jenny gives Greg a look before crossing her arms with a huff, "It's not my fault so many super-heroines have costumes that'd I'd look good in.... Anyway, can we please get going, this is getting boring."

"Well, there is one more thing." Rebecca says, stepping away from the group to go to her desk, opening up a picture on her screen as well as getting something out of her desk. Turning the screen around to face Rick, she shows him a drawing of him in a Green Lantern costume, comic version, not movie version, that'd fit the cosplay like feel of all the other costumes. "This is why we did the dramatic reveal, because we know it'd make you feel comfortable doing it when you made your costume." she added, walking over to him, handing him a plastic Green Lantern ring.

"You realize I don't need to ..." Rick started to deny before realizing no one there believed him, "Okay, okay, I get it. I can be dramatic sometimes." And he pauses again, seeing the looks hold, "Okay, a good amount of the time." Putting the ring given to him on, he closes his fist and points it at the screen. "In Brightest Day, In Blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might, beware my power, Green Lantern's Light!" And as he finishes the oath, he focuses on the costume, until it completely replaces his current clothes, with the mask being the last part to appear on him.

"Okay, we ready to go? These wings weren't made for comfort apparently." Anne said, before reaching back to try and adjust them a bit.

"Yeah, just let me do one thing, and I'll meet you all downstairs, okay?" Rick says, leaving to his apartment as everyone else went downstairs.

For those looking for Rick_D_Tech or notthat2D, you have found them here at Selfmade_hero.

I finally decided it to be better to have one account for both instead of two separate accounts for them. This should allow me to hit tags for either of them easier than I could before, and not leave them sitting just because I couldn't get to them.

The following is a rant brought to you by your local theater worker... or me. Also, this is a bit of long rant.

Okay, to start this off, I'd like to say I work at a movie theater. I won't say the company because it's not my place, but it is one of the big ones. 99.5% of the time, I'm box office because that's where I'm best, so I know what to in almost every situation.

For movies, the ratings are mainly a guideline for what to do, PG13 doesn't mean you can't see a movie unless you're 13, it just means it's not suggested that you watch it unless you're 13, but you can watch it on your own if you're younger. The only ones that ARE supposed to be followed are R and NC-17, which mean that you have to be 17 or accompanied by a 21 year old for R, and only 17 and older for NC-17. Also you need to have ID for those types of movies unless you definitely seem old enough, or else you don't get to buy tickets, and it's one ID per ticket if you're under 21. We do get fined if caught, and will be held responsible.

This doesn't mean you can go in if only one of you has an ID, or if you say you're old enough, or if an adult buys the tickets and lets you go in without them or sees a different movie. Also, if you sneak into another movie and caught, you will get thrown out, and depending on the manager, you may or may not get a refund for your tickets.

Aaaaanyway, back to my point. On Friday, we got "Silent House" which is rated R, and today, a group of about 8 teenagers decided they wanted to see it. About 7 of them were old enough to see it, one wasn't, and only one, ONE had ID, and they weren't even 20. First they tried getting me to just give them the tickets and even just say that the ID was enough for them to go in. When that didn't work, they left, came back, and the one with ID bought a ticket for the movie, and the rest bought tickets for another non-R movie, and I flagged their tickets(marked them in a way that makes it so theater workers know that the holders may be up to something). Now this could have gone two ways, 1) they accept they can't see the R-rated movie and go to the one they bought, or 2) they sneak in, and kicked out if everyone is paying attention like they should.

So, because apparently these people think they can do whatever they want, they snuck into Silent House, and were thrown out. It took three managers, one of them being the General Manager(top boss for the theater). Most guests tend to be calm about it, or accept, at least accept that they were busted and just leave. These... people decided to spill popcorn all over the place because they were upset, and because they really didn't seem to like me, one of them took the pizza they bought at the theater, rubbed it on the box office window(which I am glad was there) and said I was a shit while I had guests.

So, moral of the story? Either A) It doesn't matter how things use to be, or what you want them to be, you can't always get what you want, or B)

Thank you for reading this, and may your day be less "interesting" than mine.

Okay, well, it's the story about a boy, a young kid who grew up watching TV, movies, reading books and comics and wishing all he saw in them was real. Right off the bat, it seems like a boring story, one that should end there, but it doesn't. One day, before the boy's first year of high school, a solar eclipse happened. He went into it fine, but by the time it ended, he started to realize something was different about him, something... changed. He realized that his wish, the thing he wanted most, had come true, that anything he saw could in fact, become reality. Once more, you'd believe the story would end there, but it doesn't.

The boy, growing up on stories of people with abilities donning masks and helping those who didn't, and wanted to start a group to do just that, to help those who were in need. He searched for others like him, also hearing stories more existed, but alas, all he could find wished only to live a normal life. So giving up on that dream, the boy went back to living his life, with an ability and continuing school. Once more, the story does not end where it would seem.

Finishing high school and college, the boy had learned to work with technology, fixing and building as needed, seeing as he still had a desire to help the world, in one way or another. However, the government, the foundation by the people, for the people, had decided that those with abilities should be hunted down and locked away, regardless of what they had done, just because they were deemed a threat. They searched and captured many, working off of files from another organization, leaving destruction in their wake, until they went looking for the boy.

The files for the boy had been incomplete, only having enough to know the general area of where to look, but not who to look for. One by one, they searched house after house, leaving all who stood in their way to get hurt as they looked for the boy. Knowing that they were soon to find him, hurting more, and even his own family, the boy decided he couldn't hide, but he also couldn't let himself be captured in fear of how they may use his ability, or run in fear they'd use his family to capture him. So, tapping into his own fear, the boy pushed his powers to make something, something that would let him run, while also keeping his family safe. He made a second form, one which the people hunting him could see and follow that wouldn't be traced back to the boy, who had by now, become a man.

He survived the day, and all the hunting until they were stopped, leaving the man with a second identity and a sense of need to use it. Swinging back around to his old idea, he decided to help those who needed it, not in a group, but on his own, being the man people could go to when no one else seemed to be able to help, the one who would be there when no one else could. And once more, you would believe the story would end there, but it doesn't, because it's still continuing, waiting for it's ending which with any hope, will be a good one.
